Johnson Wins Shot Put at St. Thomas Showcase

MINNEAPOLIS -- Luke Johnson took individual honors in the shot put on Friday at the St. Thomas Showcase, besting the competition with a distance of 16.66 meters. 

Johnson -- Minnesota's only representative at the meet -- topped his closest opponent by more than two-and-a-half meters on Friday. 

The No. 8 Gophers track & field team returns to action on Saturday at the Bill Bergan Invitational in Ames, Iowa.
