Throwers Dominate Day 1 of the Aztec Invitational

The Minnesota Men’s track and field team sent it’s throwers out to San Diego, to take part in the Aztec Invitational. Minnesota will conclude the weekend tomorrow out on the west coast.

Trey Davis and Mark Jennings took the top two spots in the shotput this afternoon. Davis had a mark of 58- ¼ (17.68) and Jennings finished with a distance of 55 7 ½ (16.95m).

The group took three out of the top five in the hammer throw. Micah Hegerle finished second overall with a toss of 207-04 (63.20m). Quentin Mege was third with a mark of 202-08 (61.78) and Jon Lehman was fourth with a throw of 188-0 (57.30m).

Over in the javelin senior Paul Hoplin finished sixth overall with a throw of 184-09 (56.32m) and teammate Jake Malm was right behind him in sixth with a mark of 177-09 (54.19m).
