Minnesota heads into the championship season next weekend with the 2018 Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Obsa Ali nearly matched his personal record in the 5,000 meters as the Gophers opened competition in Ames.
The Gophers picked up wins in the long jump, the triple jump and the 4x400 as they head into the final home meet of the 2018 schedule next Friday with the Snowshoe Open at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse on campus.
Webb clocked a 21.20 to pace the 200 meter field – second only in Gophers program history to Mitch Potter’s 21.09 in 2004. He also added a sixth-place finish in the 60 meters at 6.85.
The Maroon & Gold were led by a 1-2 finish in the heptathlon by Teddy Frid and John Uchytil, who both posted personal records in the seven-event competition.

Indoor: Took home the triple jump title at the St. Thomas Invite with a mark of 14.30 meters (46-11.00 ft.). Outdoor: Won the long jump at the Tom Cat Twilight with a jump of 6.55 meters. • At the Tommie Twilight, won the long jump with a personal record of 7.12 meters.
