Burkstrand Adds Minnesota's First 800 Meter Title at Drake Relays

A day after helping the Gophers to the squad's third 4x800 meter relay title in as many years, Travis Burkstrand and Harun Abda put together a 1-2 finish in the 800 meters on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 14,504.

High School: A 2012 graduate of Eden Prairie High School (Minn.)• competed for head coachBruce Kivimaki• helped Eden Prairie to a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 at the 2012 Minnesota State High Scool Championships • boasts a personal best of 48.42 in the 400 meters • the 2012 Lake Conference champion in the 400 meters (50.04) • part of three Eden Prairie High School relay records: the 400-meter relay, the 800-meter relay and the 1,600-meter relay.
