Minnesota Set for NCAA West Prelims in Austin

The Gophers contingency will head to the West region preliminary meet in Austin, Texas (University of Texas) with competition set for May 23-25. Qualifiers from the west regional will compete at the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.

Minnesota 4x800 Wins Third-Straight Drake Relay Title

The Gophers contingency clocked a winning time of 7:26.49 to highlight the second day of action at the national meet and post the fourth-best time in the NCAA this year in the 4x800 meter relay.

Career Highlights: An NCAA Preliminary competitor in the triple jump as a true freshman • 2010 Drake Relays triple jump champion • ranked fourth in the outdoor (51-2 3/4) and sixth in the indoor (50-6 1/4) triple jump on the Gophers' top-10 lists.

2012 Season - Indoor: Placed eighth in the triple jump at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 50-4 (15.34m) • also leaped 23-2 1/2 (7.02m) in the long jump • placed third in the long jump at both the Bill Bergan Invite (23-6 1/4) and Jack Johnson Classic (23-0 1/2) • won the triple jump at both the Snowshoe Open (50-0 1/2) and the Jack Johnson Classic (49-3 3/4) • finished second in the triple jump at the Bill Bergan Invite with a leap of 49-9 1/4 (15.17m). Outdoor: Won the 200 meters at the Hamline Invite with a time of 22.10 • won the long jump at both the Golden Bear Twilight (23-10 3/4) and Tom Cat Twilight (22-8 1/2) • finished fourth at the Iowa Musco Twilight • placed fifth at the ASU Invite • won the triple jump at the Iowa Musco Twilight (49-0 1/4), Hamline Invite (48-11 3/4), Golden Bear Twilight (48-1 3/4), and Tom Cat Twilight (48-0 1/2) • also competed in the triple jump at the Drake Relays (49-4 1/2) • Academic All-Big Ten.

2011 Season - Indoor:finished fourth at the Big Ten championships in the triple jump with a leap of 50-6 ¼ (15.40m)• won the Bill Bergan Invite with a jump of 48-2 ½ (15.0m) • took first in the triple jump at the Snowshoe Open in both the trip with a mark of 48-2 ¾ (14.70m) • took second in the long jump (23-2 ¾) at the Snowshoe Open. Outdoor: Won the long jump at the St. Thomas Quad with a leap of 23-0 ½ (7.03m) • finished fifth in the triple jump at the Big Ten Championships with a jump of 51-2 ¾ (15.61m) • took second at the Jim Click Shootout (49-5 ½) and Musco Twlight (49-3 ¾) in the triple jump • letterwinner.

2010 Season - Indoor: Competed in three meets • landed season-best leaps to place fourth in both the long jump (23-7 1/2) and triple jump (49-7 3/4) in the Big Ten Championships. Outdoor: An NCAA Preliminary Meet competitor in the triple jump • landed a jump of 49-5 in prelims • competed in four events at the Big Ten Championships • placed third in the triple jump with a season-best effort of 50-2, his first career jump over 50 feet • added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (23-7 1/4) and anchored the 4x100-meter relay that placed sixth • also competed in the 200 meters • won the Drake Relays triple jump crown (49-11 1/4), one of three triple jump titles won during the season • top long jump was 23-10 at the Jim Click Shootout • placed second in the Musco Twilight Meet with a season-best time of 21.44 seconds in the 200 meters • anchored the 4x100m relay in seven meets • varsity letterwinner.
