Bradley Johnson won the 800 meters and anchored a runner-up finish in the 4x400 meter relay on Saturday.
The sophomore was one of two Gophers to earn Big Ten titles last weekend along with Mitchell Hechsel's NCAA-best 600 meter time of 1:16.26.
Wieland closed out the weekend in stellar fashion for Minnesota, winning the Big Ten heptathlon title and setting a new school record for the event in the process.
John Simons, Dominique Howard, Jon Lehman, Wally Ellenson and Zach Siegmeier will represent the Gophers at the NCAA championships next month in Eugene, Ore.
The duo join senior pole vaulter Zach Siegmeier, who qualified for the NCAA championships on Thursday.
2015 Indoor Season: Set a new Northwest Open record in route to a victory in the 600 meter race, clocking a time of 1:18.73. • In dual competition at Wisconsin, placed first in the 600 meter with a time of 1:19.31 en route to a border battle victory over the Badgers. • In the 4x400 relay in dual competition at Wisconsin, paced the team to a first place finish with a time of 3:15.99. • Finished 4th in the 400 meter at the 2015 Iowa State Classic with a time of 47.89 seconds. • At the same meet, helped pace the Minnesota "A" team to a 3rd place finish with a time of 3:11.12. • At the 2015 Snowshoe Open, placed 2nd in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.30. • Led the Minnesota "A" team to a first place finish at the 2015 Snowshoe Open in the 4x400 with a time of 3:15.47. • At the 2015 B1G Indoor Championships, won the 600 meter event with a time of 1:16.26. • That time is the best in the nation for the 600 meter event for the 2015 indoor season. • Competed in both the distance medley and the 4x400 relay at the B1G Indoor's helping his teams finish 3rd and 5th respectively.
