A two-time All-American in the indoor high jump, Lockard punched his ticket to the NCAA championships with a fifth-place showing at Hornet Stadium on Saturday.
Ali punched his ticket to next month's NCAA championships in Oregon after leading the 3,000 meter steeplechase field with a time of 8:36.49 -- a mark that stands as the fastest time in the NCAA this season.
Outdoor All-Americans Obsa Ali and Jackson Wellenstein lead the Maroon & Gold into competition with the action slated to run May 24-26 at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.
Jonathan Webb, Derek Wiebke and Shane Streich highlighted the opening day of competition for the Maroon & Gold with Webb moving on in the 200 meters and Wiebke and Streich advancing in the 1,500 meters.
Ali finished with a time of 8:51.25 in his first 3,000 meter steeplechase competition of the year, leading the National Relays field with a performance that ranks second in the Big Ten and 20th in the nation this year.
