The Minnesota men's outdoor track and field team wrapped up the weekend on Saturday at the Meet of the Unsaintly at Hamline.

No. 19 Minnesota Claims Nine Titles at Hamline Invitational

The Gophers claimed nine individual titles at the Hamline Invitational and placed multiple competitors in the 800-meter run, the 1,500-meter run, the high jump, the pole vault and the discus throw.

Over a dozen regional colleges and universities including members of the No. 19 Minnesota men's outdoor track and field team will head to St. Paul this weekend to compete in the Hamline Invitational.

No. 8 Gophers Earn Team Title at Bill Bergan Invitational

The No. 8 Minnesota men's track & field team won six individual events to claim its second team title of the year on Saturday at the Bill Bergan Invitational. The Gophers tallied 123.25 points at the event, more than 50 points ahead of runner-up Wisconsin.

Gophers Earn Ten Individual Titles at Northwest Open

Minnesota returns to action next weekend with the Jack Johnson Invitational.

2012 Season - Indoor: Competed in the heptathlon at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 4,917 points • placed second in the heptathlon at the Jack Johnson Classic (4,737) • finished third in the 60-meter hurdles at the Northwest Open with a time of 8.69 • finished fourth in the Pole vault at the Bethel Invite with a height of 15-7 (4.75m). Outdoor: Big Ten Championships competitor in the decathlon (6,424) • competed in the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays with a mark of 6,583 • won the pole vault at the Drake Alternate (16-5 1/4) and the Bolstorff Twilight (15-9 3/4) • placed second at the Hamline Invite (16-2 3/4) • finished fourth in the 400 meters at the Bolstorff Twilight with a time of 50.60 • Academic All-Big Ten.

2011 Season: Redshirted the Indoor and Outdoor seasons

High School: A 2010 graduate of Kaneland High School • high school coach was Eric Baron • two-time Illinois Class 2A state champion • part of the first-place 4x400m relay in 2010 • the 2009 300m intermediate hurdles champion with a state-record time of 38.57 • finished fourth in the 300m IH, fifth in the 110m high hurdles, and seventh in pole vault in 2010 • 2010 Western Sun Conference champion in the 300IH, pole vault, and 4x400m relay • All-Western Sun Conference honoree in 2009 and 2010 • senior athlete of the year • also lettered in football one year and cross country three years • high honor roll student.

Personal: Born July 6, 1992 • plans to major in electrical engineering • son of Jay and Melanie Markuson • has a younger brother, Jay • father, Jay, ran track at Western Illinois • enjoys playing pool and listening to music.
