Gophers Claim 10 Titles at Snowshoe Open

The Gophers closed out the 2017 home slate on Friday night with the Snowshoe Open at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.


Gophers Garner 10 Wins at Jack Johnson Classic

All-American alum Sean Donnelly set a new University of Minnesota Fieldhouse record in the weight throw.


A 2016 graduate of Edina High School • earned all-state and all-conference honors in 2015 and 2016 • a three-time Lake Conference champion (twice in the 1,600 meters, one in the 800 meters) • competed for Jamie Kirkpatrick and Johnny Davis at Edina • closed out his prep career by leading Edina to a runner-up finish at the state meet including three top-four individual performances (second in the 3,200 meters, third in the 1,600 meters and fourth in the 5,000 meters) • seven-time athletic letter winner (four in cross country, three in track) • a two-time academic all-state honoree • also earned one letter in community service • holds Edina school records in the 1,600 meters (4:13) and the 4x800 meter relay (7:52) • competed with the Edina Cross Country Club, earning all-region honors at Nike Cross Regionals and advancing to Nike Cross Nationals • competed with the Edina Track Club and ran at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor.

Born August 14, 1998 • native of Edina, Minn. • son of Steve and Nicole Manderscheid • has one brother, Alec, and one sister, Jena • former prep teammates competing in the NCAA include Will Burke (Michigan), Sam Thomas (Davidson) and Jake Campbell (St. Olaf) • lists running up the final hill at the MSHSL state cross country meet as his biggest sports thrill • also enjoys camping, hiking, scuba diving and mountain biking • plans to study engineering/physics.
