The University of Minnesota men's track & field program opened up the 108th annual Drake Relays on Thursday night with four top-10 finishes by the Maroon & Gold.
Three members of the Maroon & Gold picked up personal records to go with their wins including true freshman Luke May's victory in the javelin.
Meanwhile at the Hamline Invitational, the Gophers picked up four titles from unattached freshmen.
The Maroon & Gold started the two-day competition with wins from Mitch Hechsel (800 meters), Evan Ferlic (1,500 meters) and Luca Wieland (shot put).
Obsa Ali ran the second fastest 5,000 meters in school history and the second fastest mark in the Big Ten this season.
