Outdoor All-Americans Obsa Ali and Jackson Wellenstein lead the Maroon & Gold into competition with the action slated to run May 24-26 at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.
Behind Ali's 10 points as 3,000 meter steeplechase champion, the Gophers recorded 25 points on Saturday to jump up to sixth in the team standings ahead of Sunday's final day of competition.
Ali finished with a time of 8:51.25 in his first 3,000 meter steeplechase competition of the year, leading the National Relays field with a performance that ranks second in the Big Ten and 20th in the nation this year.
The Gophers finished sixth out of 16 teams in the relay competitions as Minnesota competed in four of the seven relays, totaling 13 points.
