Burkstrand Adds 800 Meter Title at Drake, Throwers Earn Two Titles in San Diego

A day after helping the Gophers to the squad's third 4x800 meter relay title in as many years, Travis Burkstrand and Harun Abda put together a 1-2 finish in the 800 meters on Saturday in front of a sellout crowd of 14,504.

High School:graduated from Lake Zurich High School in 2011 • high school coaches were J.B. Hanson and Chad Beaver • All-Conference, All-State as a senior • finished 18th overall in the state championships as a senior • also participated in track, football and wrestling in high school • Honor Roll all four years • won the Illinois Class 3A State Championship in the 800m as a senior.
