The University of Minnesota men's tennis team swept six singles matches against Michigan State to wrap up play at the Minnesota Invitational in the brand-new Baseline Tennis Center. In the three-day, six-team event, the Golden Gophers won 25 out of 34 singles match.
Junior Chris Wettengel claimed a 6-2, 2-6 (10-3) win over the Spartans' Adam Hourani to finish the weekend with a perfect 6-0 singles record. Junior transfer Clay Estes also remained perfect in four singles matches with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mike Brown.
This was the first event held at the new Baseline Tennis Center, a venue that will serve as home for the men's and women's tennis programs at the University of Minnesota. The facility features 10 indoor courts and eight outdoor courts.
