SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2014 All-Academic Teams Wednesday afternoon. The University of Minnesota men’s tennis team was a recipient of the ITA All-Academic Team award, while Mathieu Froment and Jeremy Lynn were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA member program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). ITA Scholar-Athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year.

Lynn, undecided on a major, is studying business, while Froment is double majoring in finance and risk management insurance and accounting.

Froment is an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the third-straight year. He was also received a top-five award at the 2014 Golden Goldys for earning one of the top five grade point averages among University of Minnesota student-athletes in 2013-14. Additionally, he garnered Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades.

As a team, the Gophers earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for the fourth consecutive year and took home the Minnesota Men’s Athletics Team Academic Award at this year’s Golden Goldys.
