Milicevic Earns ITA Central Region Award

ITA Regional Awards

Tempe, Ariz. – The University of Minnesota’s Stefan Milicevic was named the ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year Monday while the team was awarded the ITA Central Region Community Service Award.

Milicevic was 22-9 overall this season and 17-7 in dual matches. He played the majority of the season in the No. 3 spot where he posted a 15-7 recorded while finishing the season on a four-match win streak. The freshman finished off the season with a victory in the NCAA Tournament taking down Carlos Benito of No. 19 Georgia Tech 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot.

Milicevic finished the fall season with a 5-2 record in both singles and doubles matches. He picked up his first two collegiate victories at the ITA Central Region Championships.

As a team, the Gophers earned the ITA Central Region Community Service Award by volunteering multiple hours within the community and giving back to the community.




Five to open fall tournament season this week


The University of Minnesota will be represented by five Men’s Tennis athletes this week as the Gophers split time between a pair of high level tournaments beginning Thursday.

Seniors Matic Spec and Felix Corwin will represent the University of Minnesota at the ITA Men's All-American Championships.
