Park Ridge, Ill. – Three University of Minnesota student-athletes, Matic Spec, Felix Corwin and Josip Krstanovic, earned Big Ten Conference Honors last week.
Spec was named First-Team All-Big Ten after finishing with a 21-16 overall record and a 6-6 record in the conference. The junior played the majority of the year from the No. 1 spot with his most noticeable win coming over Arkansas’s No. 10 ranked Mike Redlicki. Spec placed second at the ITA Central Region Championships during the fall. He was also named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week on April 4.
Corwin was named Second-Team All-Big Ten with a 23-13 overall record and a 7-6 conference record. He won 15 matches from the No. 2 position and defeated two nationally ranked opponents. The junior picked up two victories at the ITA All-American Championships and the ITA Central Region Championships.
Corwin and Spec teamed up together to play in the No. 1 doubles spot together. The duo was 20-10 overall this season and collected four victories in conference play. They defeated two nationally ranked pairs along with winning two matches at the ITA All-American Championships and winning the Gold Draw of the Gopher Invitational.
Krstanovic earned the Minnesota’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. The sophomore was 21-9 overall this season and 7-3 in conference play. He played the majority of the year from the No. 5 spot where he recorded a 12-5 record. He finished the season with a 6-3 record in his final 10 matches.

Five to open fall tournament season this week

Duo to represent the U of M at ITA All-American
