After receiving a bye in the first round of competition, the second-seeded Minnesota Golden Gopher men’s tennis team will face No. 7 seed Michigan State tomorrow in the quarterfinal match-ups of the 2013 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament.
Michigan State defeated No. 10 Nebraska this afternoon to earn the advancement in the tournament. After dropping the opening doubles point, the Spartans came back for big wins at second, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles to defeat the Cornhuskers.
Minnesota and Michigan State will meet in the third match of tomorrow’s competitive rounds. Start time is set for 12:30 p.m. CT at the Varsity Tennis Courts in Columbus, Ohio. Fans can follow along with live score updates here.
Gophers Compete in US Open Qualifier
Six University of Minnesota tennis student-athletes and head coach Chuck Merzbacher competed in the US Open Sectional Qualifier, this weekend at the Baseline Tennis Center.
