vi The 17th-ranked Golden Gopher men's tennis team improved to 3-1 in the Big Ten with a 7-0 victory over No. 54 Michigan State on Friday night. Minnesota won all six singles matches en route to the victory.

The Golden Gophers claimed the doubles point with a pair of victories. Harsh Mankad and Thomas Haug won at No. 1 doubles with an 8-6 victory, and Avery Ticer and Aleksey Zharinov followed with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

Mankad, the nation's number one ranked singles player, cruised at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles vs. MSU's Chris Mitchell. All six singles wins were in straight sets as Thomas Haug, Aleksey Zharinov, Chris Wettengel, Avery Ticer and Manuel Lievano earned victories.

Minnesota improved to 10-4 overall and will travel to Indiana next week for matches against Purdue and Indiana.
