No. 17 Ohio State Defeats No. 25 Minnesota 4-3 in Men's Tennis

WarkenThe 25th-ranked Golden Gopher men's tennis team was narrowly defeated by No. 17 Ohio State 4-3 in Columbus on Saturday afternoon. The match came down to the final singles match where OSU's Paul Warkentin defeated Avery Ticer in three sets.

Minnesota claimed the doubles point with two victories in the three matches. Playing for the first time in nearly a month, Harsh Mankad teamed with Thomas Haug to win at No. 1 singles, defeated OSU's Adrian Bohane and Warkentin, 8-4. Alekzey Zharinov and Ticer won at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Mankad, ranked second in the nation, defeated the Buckeyes' Phil Metz in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2. Zharinov claimed the other victory at No. 3.
