The No. 33 ranked Golden Gopher men's tennis team defeated the University of Louisville 5-1 and Middle Tennesse State 5-1 this afternoon in singles play at the Louisville Invite in Louisville, Ky.
Juniors Jorge Duenas and Tyson Parry both won two matches during the day. Duenas defeated Alex Sievertsen of Louisville 6- 3, 4-6, 6-4 and then went on to defeat Oliver Freeman of Middle Tennessee State 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Parry topped Louisville's Cody Conley 6-3, 6-4 and then defeated Michael Lancefield of Middle Tennessee State 6-4, 6-2.
No. 1 singles player freshman Harsh Mankad defeated Louisville's Yvrtko Kujundzic 6- 7, 6-3, 6-4. Also winning against Louisville was senior Martin Michalowski and sophomore < a href="../mtennis/ player.asp?player_id=316">Karl Sloss. Sophomore Thomas Haug defeated Robert Gustafsson of Middle Tennessee State 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 and junior Jon Svensson won his match against Mark Pellerin at No. 5 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 score.
