The 34th-ranked University of Minnesota men's tennis team wrapped up its road trip to the state of Colorado today with a 5-2 win at Air Force in Colorado Springs. The Golden Gophers (2-0) lost the doubles point, but went 5-1 in singles play to give new head coach a perfect 2-0 weekend.

The Falcons (0-5) opened the dual with a 2-0 showing in doubles play. At No. 1, Robby Alexander and Ryan White upeneded UM's Andres Osorio and Sion Wlkins 8-5, while Keith Cronican and James Tomlin edged Nich Edlefsen and Dino Bilankov, 8-6, at No. 3.

The Golden Gophers rebounded with a dominating showing in singles action. At No. 1, 58th-ranked Raoul Schwark picked up his first win of the dual season with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Alexander. D.J. Geatz improved to 2-0 on the year with his 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 2.

The Maroon and Gold rattled off straight set wins at Nos. 3-5 as Mikey Kantar, Bilankov and Wilkins proved victorious for the Golden Gophers. Minnesota's lone loss in singles play came at No. 6.

The Golden Gophers return home next weekend to host Rice, Yale and Drake at the Baseline Tennis Center on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 2-4.
