Indiana State University edged out the University of Minnesota men's tennis team tonight 4-3. The 18th-ranked Golden Gophers were in a dead heat with the 30th-ranked Sycamores 3-3 headed into doubles play. Harsh Mankad and Jorge Duenas teamed up to defeat Jonas Piibor and Dalibor Mihajlovic 8-4 in number one doubles, but Chris Wettengel and Zharinov dropped their match 4-8 to Stefan Hirn and Henry Choi in the number three pairs. The battle in the number two court would decide the Ice Volleys champion. Eric Robertson was paired with Jon Svensson for the Golden Gophers. They muscled back from a 2-5 deficit to send the match into a tie-breaker, but Vedran Vidovic and Lovre Brajkovic slipped one down the line to take the match and the title away from the defending champions.
