ITA All-American: Singles Qualifying Draw | Doubles Qualifying Draw

TULSA, Okla. – Gopher Men’s Tennis senior Felix Corwin earned a first round victory in the Qualifying Draw of the 2017 St. Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships on Monday to advance to Tuesday’s second round. In doubles action, he and senior Matic Spec fell in three sets to end their bid to qualifying at the Case Tennis Center.

Corwin picked up a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Rana Roop Singh Bhullar of Florida State early Monday. He will take on Trevor Foshey of Mississippi State in the second round. A victory will mean a second match Tuesday in the qualifying round.

In the doubles draw, the duo got off to a good start after an hour delay due to the length of earlier matches. After edging out Florida’s McClain Kessler and Duarte Vale 7-6 in the first set, the Gators pair would win the match in three, taking sets two and three, 6-3 and 10-7.

Times have not officially been released for Tuesday’s matches. Spec will be back in action Thursday when the Singles Main Draw begins in Tulsa.
