The University of Minnesota men's swimming and diving coaches Kelly Kremer, Dennis Dale and Wenbo Chen announced their 2012-13 schedule Tuesday, with the Golden Gophers set to host seven meets during the season at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Minnesota kicks-off the 2012-13 season on the road at Michigan Oct. 5-6, before returning home to compete in an intrasquad meet Oct. 12 at the Aquatic Center.
The Maroon and Gold will then remain home for a four-meet homestand that will begin by hosting Wisconsin Oct. 26, followed by the Iowa dual Nov. 2. Minnesota will also host the Grand Prix Nov. 9-11 and the Jean Freeman Invite Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
The New Year will kick off in Honolulu, when the Gophers face Hawaii Jan. 12 during their annual winter training trip.
After returning to the Mainland, Minnesota will travel to Madison for the Big Ten Triple Duals vs. Wisconsin and Purdue Feb. 1-2, before welcoming in hundreds of swimmers and divers for the Minnesota Challenge Feb. 8- 9.
The men will then travel to Bloomington where Indiana will host the Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Nov. 27-March 2, where the Gophers finished fourth a season ago.
Minnesota will host its final meet of the year, the Gopher-It Invite, March 10, before returning to Indiana to compete at NCAA Championships March 28-30 in Indianapolis. The Gophers sent eight men to the Championships last year and returned with 15 All-American accolades, finishing in 24th place overall.
