Minnesota senior Kristoffer Jorgensen and junior Mikey Ross both qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships after putting together strong performances during the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships this week at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Pool.
Jorgensen closed out the competition with a score of 730.00 in platform diving for a third-place finish, while placed fifth with a final score of 664.65.
Jorgensen advanced to the finals in third place after posting a score of 393.15 in the preliminaries, and held on to his third-place finish with a mark of 336.85 in the final round. Ross advanced to the finals in fifth place by registering a score of 339.60 in the preliminary round, before tallying a score of 325.05 in the finals to hang on to fifth place.
Both divers will compete at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships March 22-24 at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Seattle, Wash.
