The University of Minnesota swimming and diving team is set to host the Minnesota Challenge this weekend. Events are scheduled to being at 6pm on Friday and continue again at 11am and 6pm on Saturday. The meet will not be scored.
“We’re excited to host the Minnesota Challenge,” head coach Kelly Kremer said. “For our swimmers and divers, this will be their chance for a final tune up or in some cases even a start to the championship season. It’s a weekend we’re excited about and the sessions are short but we still have three of them. We’re hoping to get some really good swimming and diving competition in.”
The Gophers are coming off a successful meet in Madison last weekend. The men’s team improved to 7-1 on the season after taking down Wisconsin and Purdue, while the women remain undefeated after earning three victories over Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois.

Admission costs for the meet are $10.00/session for adults and $5.00/session for children 12 and under. The weekend’s schedule is as followed:

Bowe Becker broke the Minnesota record in the 100-yard freestyle, and three Gophers made the 200 breaststroke A final.
