Why did you decide to swim for Minnesota?
My relationship with the University of Minnesota coaching staff has grown since my sophomore year, which led me to setting up an official visit right away. After meeting with the team, experiencing the campus and its surroundings, and talking with the academic staff, I knew Minnesota was the perfect school for me. The choice became clear toward the end of my visit and I couldn’t be happier to call myself a Golden Gopher.
What are you looking forward to the most with starting your Golden Gopher collegiate career?
I can’t wait to have meets with my future teammates and coaches, and to experience the college level atmosphere, especially the championship level meets and traveling to different venues. I also can’t wait to wear maroon and gold!
Thus far, what has been your best or most proud swimming memory?
I am most proud of achieving an Olympic Trial cut in the 100-meter breaststroke and holding a YMCA national record in the 50-meter breaststroke.
What do you like to do for fun besides swimming?
I enjoy reading and hanging out with my friends outside of the pool. I try to take full advantage of living in a beautiful area by biking, fishing, knee boarding, tubing, and boating. My personal favorite is relaxing at all of the beaches in Door County with my friends.
How do you think you will contribute to the Gopher swimming and diving program?
I look forward to having the opportunity to make an impact on the Gopher squad as soon as possible. I’m anxious to help the team out in my primary events and I hope to reach high levels of success right away. I will do this by being the best teammate I can be and continuing to work hard to help meet my personal goals and team goals. Go Gophers!
