The Big Ten Conference announced Tuesday that University of Minnesota freshman Logan Redondo was named the Big Ten Men's Swimming Co-Freshman of the Week for his performance in the Gophers' dual at Hawaii on Saturday.
Redondo shares the honor with Layne Rogers from Purdue.
In the road event, Redondo posted one first- and one third-place finish against the Rainbow Wahine. He claimed the title in the 500-yard freestyle (4:29.66) and finished third in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:23.73)
The weekly honor was the first of Redonodo's career and the first since CJ Smith earned the honor on Jan. 3, 2012.
