Gophers Host Intrasquad Meet Friday

Events begin at 5:00pm at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center

2011-12 • Freshman Season: Placed sixth in the 100 breast (58.84) at the Minnesota Challenge • finished seventh in the 200 breast (2:07.77) • placed 10th in the 200 breast at the Triple Duals • finished sixth in the 200 breast against Hawaii • also had the sixth best time in the 100 breast at the dual.

High School: A 2011 graduate of Boulder High School • coached by Curt Colby • also swam with the Rally Sport Athletic Swim Club • 2010 Colorado Class 5A state runner-up in the 100 breast • also competed in the 200 IM and 200 medley relay • state meet competitor all for years of high school • USA Swimming All-American in 2010 and 2011 • 2010 Front Range League champion in the 100 breast • a 2010 and 2011 all-conference honoree • set three school records • 2009 Western Zone champion in the 200 breast and 400 medley relay • finished seventh in the 200 breast at the 2010 Minnesota Grand Prix • US junior nationals competitor • National Honor Society member.

Personal: Born June 12, 1993 • majoring in biomedical engineering • son of Ryosuke and Ryoko Isobe • has a younger brother, Rei • his most memorable sports thrill was winning state for the first time in the 50 and 200 breast at age 12 • is bilingual (English and Japanese), owns his own custom t-shirt company, and also likes to DJ and play piano.
