2016-17 Senior Season: Academic All-Big Tenearned a 55.26 in the 100-yard breast at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • finished with a 1:59.02 in the 200-yard breast at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • earned a 1:50.34 in the 200-yard IM at the 2017 Big Ten Championships • improved to 2:01.44 in the 200-yard breast at the AT&T Winter Championships.

2015-16 Junior Season:
Tallied 15 top-five finishes during the regular season • At the 2016 Big Ten Championships, Hatanaka finished 20th in both the 100 breast and 200 breast and 53rd in the 200 IM.
