2013-14 • Freshman Season:Nominated for 2014 Golden Goldy "Male Rookie of the Year" • At the 2014 NCAA Championships, Maly finished the 200 IM with a time of 1:44.76 for 27th place, 400 IM All-American*, finished with a time of 3:46.97 for 15th place (3/27-3/29) • Named 2014 B1G Freshman of the Year • At the 2014 NCAA Championships, Jakub took 27th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 400 IM (3/27-3/29) • Finished 8th in the 200 IM, 10th in the 200 Breaststroke, 5th in the 400 IM and 6th in the 800 Free Relay at the Big Ten Championships (2/26-3/1) • Placed 10th in the 100 Fly at the 2014 MN Challenge (2/7-2/8) • At the B1G Triple Dual, he finished 3rd in the 100 Breast, 7th in the 200 Breast, 2nd in the 200 IM, 4th in the 400 IM, and 5th in the 800 Free Relay (1/31-2/1) • Finished 4th in the 400 Free Relay, 3rd in the 400 IM, 4th in the 200 Free, 3rd in the 200 Breast, 1st in the 200 IM, and 4th in the 400 Medley Relay against NC State (1/24-1/25) • At Hawaii, Jakub placed 1st in the 400 IM (1/11) • During the 2014 Jean Freeman Invite, he finished 13th in the 50 Free, 4th in the 200 Free, 1st in the 400 Medley Relay and 15th in the 100 Free (12/6-12/7) • At the Minneapolis Arena Grand Prix, Maly placed 4th in the 400 IM, 13th in the 200 Breast and 5th in the 200 IM (11/14-11/16) • Finished 6th in the 100 Breast and 3rd in the 400 IM against Iowa (11/1) • Placed 4th in the 200 IM, 4th in the 200 Breast, 3rd in the 800 Free Relay, 4th in the 400 Medley Relay, 6th in the 400 IM, and 6th in the 100 Breast vs. Wisconsin (10/18-10/19) • Finished 3rd in the 400 Medley Relay, 6th in the 200 Fly, 7th in the 200 Back, and 3rd in the 400 IM against Florida (10/12) • Against Arizona State, Maly placed 3rd in the 100 Breast and 1st in the 200 IM (10/5)
