2012-13 Sophomore Season: Placed fourth in both the 200 and 100 fly at Michigan (10/5).
2011-12 Freshman Season: Competed at the Big Ten Championships established three top times in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly placed 21st in the 400 IM (3:55.88) also placed 21st in the 200 fly (1:48.68) finished 35th in the 200 IM (1:51.33) performed strong at the Minnesota Challenge won the 200 fly won the 400 IM came in second in the 200 IM letterwinner.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Loveland High School swam for Loveland Swim Club under Jim Nickell placed third at State in the 200 IM competed in the 100 butterfly at the State meet as senior & 500 freestyle as sophomore and freshman earned CHSAA All-American honors competed at the men's Junior Nationals in the 200 butterfly, 200 IM and 400 IM
Personal: Majoring in accounting son of Steve and Lori Hatanka enjoys biking, snowboarding, water skiing, and wake surfing most memorable sports thrill was competing at the Olympic Trials with his club team (Loveland Swim Club).
