Established three career top times and scored in two events at the Big Ten Championships placed eighth in the 1650 free (15:06.53) placed 11th in the 500 free (14:22.03) finished in 31st in the 200 free (1:38.71) won the 1650 free at the Minnesota Challange won the 500 free at the Triple duals claimed two titles at the Iowa dual in the 500 and 1000 free letterwinner.
2010-11 SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Scored and posted season-best times in two events at the Big Ten Championships finished seventh in the 1650 free (15:10.11) placed 16th in the 500 free (4:26.96) won both the 500 and 1000 free races against Wisconsin and Iowa won the 500 free against North Carolina won the 1650 free against Missouri won the 500 free at the Triple Duals placed fifth in the 500 free at the Minnesota Grand Prix placed eighth in the 1650 free at the Georgia Invitational letterwinner.
2009-10 FRESHMAN SEASON:
One of Minnesota's top distance freestyle performers as a freshman competed at the Big Ten Championships, placing 20th in the 1650 free, 17th in the 500 free and 40th in the 200 free finaled twice at the Minnesota Grand Prix including a fifth-place showing in the 500 free and an eighth-place finish in the 1000 free placed fourth in the 1650 free at the Ohio State Invitational picked up first career collegiate victory by winning the 500 freestyle at the Minnesota Challenge letterwinner.
A 2009 graduate of Chantilly High School in Fairfax, Va. two time Virginia state champion in the 500 freestyle shattered the state record in the event as a junior and senior NISCA All-American 2008 Olympic Trials qualifier rated as a five-star recruit by Swimming World Magazine also competes for The Fish under his father and head coach Ray Benecki multiple-time competitor at the U.S. Open finished seventh in the 800-meter free at the 2008 meet Junior Nationals and Senior Nationals qualifier.
Plans to major in geology son of Joanne and Raymond Benecki has two brothers, Steven and Kevin born September 8, 1990.
