Season Preview with Dennis Dale

The Gophers are set to compete in an intrasquad meet Friday at 4 p.m. at the University Aquatic Center.

2011-12 • Freshman Season: Established all top times at the Minnesota Challenge • won the 100 back with a time of 49.90 • finished runner-up in the 200 back (1:48.47) • placed ninth in the 200 IM (1:56.01).

High School: A 2011 graduate of Creighton Prep • also swam for Greater Omaha Aquatics • coached by Tom Beck, Terri Struble, Lynn Groff, and Dr. Larry Raynor • 2010 Nebraska state champion in the 100 back as a junior, setting a meet record (50.69) and helping Creighton Prep to the team title on his way to NSAA Male Athlete of the State Meet honors • also part of the state champion 200 medley relay for three straight years • team won the state championship each of his four years • finished third in the 100 back as a senior, and third in the 200 IM as a junior • four-time Metropolitan Conference champion • All-American three years • US junior nationals competitor • set school records in two events • three-time USA Scholastic All-American • academic all-state and all-conference • a National Honor Society member • Martin Luther King Award recipient • Magis Award recipient.
