Golden Gopher Radio Network
The University of Minnesota Department of Athletics, in conjunction with multimedia rights holder Gopher Sports Properties, announced a three-year radio broadcast agreement with Hubbard Broadcasting in March of 2011.
Golden Gopher hockey game broadcasts can be heard live on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities, along with affiliates on the Gopher Radio Network. Several games will be heard on Praise FM-95.3 due to conflicts with Gopher men's basketball. Free online audio will be available for all games via Gophersports.com and the 1500 ESPN mobile app.
The radio broadcast booth features Frank Mazzocco and Wally Shaver. Mazzocco will serve as an analyst, while Shaver will handle the play-by-play duties. Mazzocco and Shaver will call every game during the 2012-13 season on the Gopher Radio Network.
Gopher Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which manages rights for more than 50 collegiate institutions, associations and conferences including seven Big Ten Conference member institutions - Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin. Aside from the campus-level rights relationships Learfield Sports has with these schools, the company also manages the Big Ten Conference's sponsorship rights and develops its corporate partnerships.
