MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota men’s hockey team announced teams and matchups for the this year’s Mariucci Classic on Monday afternoon with Ferris State, Colgate and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) joining the Gophers’ annual holiday tournament.
Ferris State and RPI will kick off the 23rd Annual Mariucci Classic at 4 p.m. CT on Friday, Jan. 3 with the Gophers following against Colgate at 7 p.m. The winners of both Friday matchups will face off on Saturday as will the losing teams. Minnesota will play in the 7 p.m. game on Saturday no matter the result of Friday’s games with the first game of the day set for 4 p.m.
Minnesota is 6-0-0 all-time against Colgate with the last meeting between the two teams in 2001. The Gophers are 3-1-1 against Ferris State and 9-2-0 against RPI.
