This is the first time the tournament is being held at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Developed by the Hockey Commissioners Association, which is comprised of the commissioners of the six Division I college hockey conferences, the Ice Breaker perennially brings together some of the best teams in the nation and provides fans with a destination to celebrate the start of a new year of college hockey.

Voted “Best Stadium Experience” twice by ESPN The Magazine, Xcel Energy Center has hosted many premier college hockey events including the annual Red Baron WCHA Final Five, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game in 2002, 2004 and 2006; and the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four, which will return in 2011.
