2012-13 Minnesota Hockey Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota athletic department, along with FOX Sports North and the Big Ten Network, has announced the 2012-13 Minnesota men's hockey television schedule. Thirty-four of Minnesota's 36 regular-season games will be broadcast between the two networks.

FOX Sports North will televise 28 contests, including 17 telecasts on FOX Sports North PLUS, while the Big Ten Network will carry six broadcasts of Gopher men's hockey games.

FOX Sports North's schedule features 13 telecasts at Mariucci Arena including the regular-season opener against Michigan State on Oct. 12 as well as 15 road contests. Highlights include a number of border battles, including two games against Wisconsin on Nov. 16 and Feb. 14 and two games against North Dakota, one on Jan. 18, the other on Jan. 19 as part of the seventh annual Hockey Day Minnesota. The schedule features multiple match-ups against Minnesota schools with three against Minnesota State, a game against Minnesota Duluth and two contests each against St. Cloud State and Bemidji State. Gophers Live presented by Century Link will air before and after every game telecast. The complete FOX Sports North schedule is available in high definition.

The Big Ten Network opens its Minnesota coverage with a preview of next year's Big Ten Conference as Minnesota hosts Wisconsin on Jan. 17. BTN will then air two WCHA games against Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 11 and against Minnesota State on Jan. 15. The Big Ten Network will also broadcast Minnesota's first outdoor game in the modern era on Feb. 17 against Wisconsin at Soldier Field as part of the Hockey City Classic in Chicago. The network closes out its 2012-13 coverage of Gopher men's hockey with games against Minnesota Duluth on Feb. 23 and against Denver on March 2.
