#1 Gophers Stun UND at Frozen Four

Here it is - the top play of the 2013-14 Gopher Hockey season. From Day One of this countdown, you knew it was coming - Justin Holl's last second game winner against North Dakota in the NCAA Frozen Four semifinal.

Not only will Holl's goal stand as the top play of last season, it's undoubtedly one of the top plays in Gopher Hockey history.
After the two rivals played 50 minutes of scoreless hockey at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to open the semifinal, Sam Warning put the Maroon & Gold up 1-0 midway through the third period to swing momentum in Minnesota's favor. But UND responded with the equalizer less than a minute later and got another bounce late in the period when the Gophers were called for a penalty.

With North Dakota holding an advantage and just seconds left on the clock, Minnesota's Kyle Rau won a faceoff in the team's defensive zone, hoping to run out the clock and send the game to overtime. Instead Brady Skjei played the puck up to Holl, who found Rau in transition heading into UND's zone. Rau's shot bounced off a UND defenseman and right back to Holl, who slid his shot into the corner of the net for his first goal of the season with just 0.6 seconds left to play.

The last-second, short-handed goal sent the Gophers on to the NCAA Frozen Four national championship game with Holl's heroics coming in at No. 1 SportsCenter's Top Ten.
