MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) - Former Gopher Hockey forward Connor Reilly will join the Indy Fuel of the ECHL next season after inking a deal with the affiliate for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and AHL’s Rockford IceHogs on Tuesday.
The Chanhassen, Minnesota native collected 56 points on 24 goals and 32 assists during 129 career games. The four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection earned his fourth letter in 2017 as a redshirt senior for the Maroon & Gold.
As a two-year alternate captain, Reilly helped the Gophers to five-consecutive regular-season conference championships as well as four trips to the NCAA tournament including a berth in the national championship game in 2014. The 2016-17 Gophers set an NCAA record with the program’s sixth-straight overall regular-season conference title and led the program to its 37th overall trip to the national tournament, another NCAA record.
Reilly is the sixth player who skated with the Gophers a season ago to sign a professional contract this offseason.
