#9 Rau Picks Up 100th Point
No. 9 on our Top Plays Countdown marks Kyle Rau's first appearance on the list although you can bet it won't be the only time he shows up.
A CCM/AHCA Division I Second Team All-American and a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree last year, the Eden Prairie, Minn., native set up Travis Boyd's power-play goal on Jan. 3 in a 2-2 overtime tie with Colgate at the Mariucci Classic. Not only did the goal tie the game midway through the third period, but it also helped Rau cross a rare milestone as just the 80th member of Minnesota's 100-point club.
Minnesota's active leading scorer with 123 career points (47 goals, 76 assists), Rau will return for his senior year in 2014-15.
Exhibition Game Time Set
Puck drop for Gopher Hockey’s exhibition contest against Alberta on Sunday, Oct. 1 has been set for 5:00 p.m. CT at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
Gophers Selected to Pace Big Ten
Team captain Tyler Sheehy was one of two Big Ten players selected as a unanimous pick while he was joined on the list by Ryan Lindgren, Rem Pitlick and newcomer Casey Mittelstadt.
Pride on Ice: Michigan Boys at the MN State Fair
