#10 Serratore Scores on Senior Night
Our first highlight in our Top Plays Countdown comes from a player known more for big hits than big goals. Tom Serratore may only have scored three goals as a senior last season, but his final goal of his career won’t be forgotten any time soon.
With Minnesota tied 1-1 against Penn State late in the third period on March 1, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native found a loose puck in front of the Nittany Lions goal, spun and fired a no-look shot into the net for the eventual game winner in a 2-1 Gophers victory on Senior Night.
The goal sent Serratore and the rest of the senior class out with a win in their final game at Mariucci Arena while the Gophers went 15-1-3 at their home rink last year – the fewest losses at the venue in its 20-year history.
Minnesota Drops Series Finale
Jack Ramsey scored his first career goal during Saturday's first period at the National Hockey Center.
Gophers Fall in Home Opener
Tyler Sheehy notched his third multi-point game in three contests this season with a goal and two assists in the loss.
Rinkside: Banner Drop Set for Friday
The Gophers will celebrate their fifth-straight regular-season conference title prior to Friday's home opener.
