12 Gophers Set for NHL Playoffs

NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Central (Matchups & Game Info)

MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) -- Gopher Hockey leads the NCAA with 12 program alums on NHL Stanley Cup playoff rosters including four players making their playoff debuts. 

Representing the Maroon & Gold in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs are Nick Bjugstad (Florida), Alex Goligoski (Dallas), Erik Haula (Minnesota), Phil Kessel (Pittsburgh), Nick Leddy (New York Islanders), Paul Martin (San Jose), Kyle Okposo (New York Islandes), Mike Reilly (Minnesota), Nate Schmidt (Washington), Jordan Schroeder (Minnesota), Brady Skjei (New York Rangers) and Thomas Vanek (Minnesota). Nineteen Gophers played in the NHL during the 2015-16 regular season. 

Additional ties to Gopher Hockey in the NHL playoffs: Darby Hendrickson serves as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Wild, Paul Holmgren serves as president of the Philadelphia Flyers.
