Radio Schedule Announced For Friday's Hockey, Basketball Games
Friday's hockey game will be able to be heard locally on the radio on 1500 ESPN.

The Minnesota men’s hockey team and men’s basketball team are both in post-season action on Friday, March 22. The men’s hockey team will face either Colorado College or North Dakota at 7 p.m. in the WCHA Final Five, while the men’s basketball team will face UCLA in the NCAA Tournament at 8:57 p.m.

The dueling events create a radio scheduling conflict, as both team’s games can usually be heard locally on 1500 ESPN. Efforts have been made to insure that fans of both teams can listen to each game locally in the Twin Cities.

The men’s hockey game, with a pre-game show beginning at 6:30 p.m., can be heard in its entirety on 1500 ESPN. The broadcast will include the post-game show as well. The radio call of the men’s hockey game can also be heard for free on

The men’s basketball game, with a pre-game show beginning at 8:25 p.m., can be heard in its entirety on FM 107.1. The broadcast will include the post-game show as well. Per NCAA rights agreements, the radio call of the mens’ basketball game will not be available on

Once the men’s hockey post-game show is over on 1500 ESPN, the channel will then join the basketball game in progress and simulcast the game call and post-game show live.




Guentzel to Recieve Terry Flanagan Award in Naples


A native of Marble, Minn., Guentzel played for Minnesota from 1981-85 and served as an assistant coach with the program from 1994-2008. He returned as associate head coach in 2011.

`U' Names Captains for 2017-18


All-American Tyler Sheehy will serve as team captain for the Gopher Hockey program in 2017-18 while Leon Bristedt, Mike Szmatula and Ryan Lindgren will serve as alternate captains.
