Head Coach Don Lucia:

On the Gophers' performance today...

“Our special teams today didn’t do the job. You can’t give up four goals on the penalty kill and give up a short-handed goal and still give ourselves the chance to win. I thought we didn’t play with great structure today, and we didn’t have real discipline in our performance today, whether it was off of positioning, or stick positioning. Even the power play, giving up the two-on-ones. But, we are all in it together, and we will take the blame for that. (Matt) McNeely played well, and (Minnesota Duluth) definitely deserved the win today.”

On the loss to Minnesota Duluth...

“There are going to be nights like these, but it is all part of the process. We have been talking about this since the first day of the season, the process, and trying to work to get better. There will be some peaks and valleys and that’s just part of it. We understand that, and we accept that. We just to come back to work on Tuesday and get better and try to get ready for Wisconsin. The good news is for me is that we are sitting at 9-2-1 in our non-conference record, so that’s good position to be in.

Junior Forward Travis Boyd:

On the loss to Minnesota Duluth...

“You usually expect a tight game, so it was pretty different here.  It happened to be lop-sided one way each night. But, (Minnesota Duluth) executed very well (today). We made some mental mistakes and they capitalized on that. I thought we were just having a tough time. The whole game we just weren’t clicking.”
