Head Coach Don Lucia
On Michigan’s play…
"Michigan is a very good transitioning team, and if you make mistakes, then you are going to pay. I thought in the first they came out, and they did a great job, gave up a few goals, but stayed in it, and blocking hard in the corner. Once it became 4-3, then it was game on. We had the momentum, and Gabe got his first goal as a Gopher."
On starting quick in tonight’s game…
"The one thing we had to understand about Michigan is that they typically have a pretty good ten minute game to start out...we wanted to make sure that we matched that energy. And we had a very good first period."
On freshmen players…
"Well, when you get to this time of the year, you hope that they are not freshmen anymore. It’s February, and we had six freshmen forwards in our line up tonight, so they understand that we rely on them everyday."
