The three points also tied his career-high in points (1/12) grabbed the primary assist on a Zach Budish goal with a great rush down the wing and centering pass against North Dakota (1/18) netted his fifth goal of the season in the second period against North Dakota (1/19) compiled a goal and an assist in a 5-3 victory over Minnesota Duluth (2/22) assisted on Mike Reilly's power-play goal against Minnesota Duluth (2/23) scored the first goal of the game in a 3-2 victory at Wisconsin (2/15) electrified the crowd with his speed and effort while tallying a goal and an assist against Denver (3/2) All-WCHA Academic Team honoree.
2011-12 Freshman Season: Played in 39 games and had 16 points (6g-10a) team was 8-2-0 when he recorded a point second among team freshmen in points made his collegiate debut against Sacred Heart (10/7) and scored his first goal as a Gopher had three points (1g-2a) versus Sacred Heart (10/8) scored against Vermont (10/21) had his second two-assist game of the season against Niagara (12/30) scored the game-winning goal at St. Cloud State (1/28) with 1:19 left in regulation, snapping a 19-game drought without a goal tallied a goal at Nebraska Omaha (2/24) had one goal and one assist against Alaska Anchorage (3/10) in Game 2 of the first round of the WCHA playoffs had one assist against Boston College in the NCAA Frozen Four (4/5).
