The Gopher Hockey program held its annual team banquet on Sunday at Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens as the Maroon & Gold honored the outgoing senior class and announced a number of team awards following the 2017-18 campaign.
A native of Commerce Township, Mich., Szmatula recorded 108 career points (47 goals, 61 assists) in 139 collegiate games.
Minnesota will learn of its fate for the NCAA tournament when the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship bracket is announced on Sunday, March 18.
With three points on the night, Sheehy is the 84th member of Minnesota's 100-Point Club and currently has 101 points (41 goals, 60 assists) in 100 career games.
Saturday's opener is set for 6:30 p.m. CT in St. Cloud (CBS Sports, NCHC.tv) while Sunday's finale will be held at 3M Arena at Mariucci at 6:00 p.m. CT (FOX Sports North, TSN2, BTN2Go, FOX Sports Go, TSNGo).
