Kyle Rau locked up his first career hat trick and Nate Schmidt posted a career-high four assists as the No. 1 Minnesota men's hockey program earned a decisive 7-1 win over Alaska Anchorage on Saturday night.
Paced by Kyle Rau's hat trick, the Gophers swept Alaska Anchorage with a 7-1 win.
International: Played for the third-place United States at the 2011 World Junior A Hockey Challenge in Langley, B.C., skating with fellow Gopher freshman Mike Reilly • Recorded three assists in four games and won a gold medal skating for Team USA at the 2010 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament in Huttwil, Switzerland.
