Five Gophers recorded multi-point games as Minnesota (24-7-5 overall, 16-7-5 WCHA) earned its fourth regular-season championship in eight years and a share of its second-straight MacNaughton Cup.
Minnesota's 39 third period goals are tied for the second most in the nation this season. The Gophers scored twice in the third to earn a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs on Friday.
The No. 1 Minnesota men's hockey team ran out of time on Saturday against No. 8/10 St. Cloud State, nearly erasing a three-goal deficit in the third period before falling to the home team 4-3.
